Rotra Air & Ocean specializes in handling worldwide ocean and air freight. With our own customs department, we handle all customs formalities for our customers. We have 5 branches spread across the Netherlands and Belgium.

You can book your ocean and air freight shipments with Rotra Air & Ocean in a number of ways. You can register your shipment by mail or easily and quickly online through our online portal rotraNext. With rotraNext, we have digitized the entire logistics chain. Here you can find your rates, book your shipments online and track your shipments using real-time data.

With our digital portal rotraNext, we have digitized the entire logistics chain. Here you can find your rates, book your shipments online and track your shipments using real-time data.
1. Your name, company name, phone number and email address.
2. Type of goods: quotations are based on non-hazardous trade goods by default. For dangerous goods, we need the IMO class, UN number and MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet).
3. Shipment details: for full containers (FCL): number of containers, type of containers and the weight per container. In case of partial loads (LCL): number of cartons / pallets / crates / containers, dimensions of the (packed) goods and weight. Is it a single shipment or does it involve several shipments per month or year? If so, what is the expected number of LCL shipments per month or year, if any?
4. Incoterms: under which Incoterms were the goods bought/sold?
5. Country + port of origin
6. Collection address + any particulars regarding collection address
7. Country + port of destination
8. Delivery address + particulars of delivery address (if any)
9. Shipping period or desired departure or arrival date
10. Any special instructions / wishes

Customs
Customs regulations apply to all shipments sent outside the EU. All formalities are handled by our own in-house customs specialists. We are AEO certified so that quick handling is guaranteed.
Customs regulations are subject to continuous changes and amendments. With our specialist knowledge we are able to take care of all customs formalities in line with current requirements. You can read more about our customs specialists and all the services we offer here.
- If you send a request for customs document preparation before 3 p.m. on weekdays, we can arrange it for you the same day.
- Rotra is connected to the AGS Import, Export and Storage customs system. This means we can handle declarations at any Dutch customs post.
- We handle both Dutch and Belgian declarations.
- Rotra can take care of the Intrastat declaration for you. We collect the data and report it to the relevant authorities.
- You can also turn to Rotra for your CBAM reports.
- Rotra can take over responsibility for the VAT payable by the foreign importer, or Limited Fiscal Representation.
- Rotra can take care of the veterinary documents for clients; this application goes through the NVWA (Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority - inspection service). The veterinary certificate is a declaration that the shipment meets the health requirements of the country of destination.
- Chamber of Commerce: thanks to an EDI connection with the Chamber of Commerce, Rotra is able to connect very quickly with the Chamber of Commerce in all cases.
