Multimodal LNG filling station
Is used to fill both inland shipping vessels and lorries, making it the 1st in Europe; a novelty. By utilizing this station, Rotra stimulates the sustainable deployment of the multimodal transport chain, using LNG as a clean and alternative fuel. The innovative initiative is supported by the European Union with a contribution from its TEN-T program. Rotra believes in LNG as a clean, silent and safe fuel for the future and aims to stimulate and achieve transport sustainability through her modal shift program.
LNG is a clean and quiet alternative to conventional fuels such as diesel for trucks and shipping. LNG is an abbreviation of Liquefied Natural Gas. Less harmful substances are released when combusting LNG compared to diesel: 95% less particulate matter, 90% less nitrogen and sulfur, 15% less CO2 and 50% noise reduction. LNG is stored in a cooled form and complies with the most stringent environmental requirements (EEV) as an alternative fuel and, therefore, has no limitations. Rotra has implemented dozens of LNG tractors for its distribution activities in the Benelux. Every year we drive over 1,000,000 'clean' miles on LNG.
